 Word­Press is an open source .org blog pub­lish­ing appli­ca­tion pow­ered by PHP and MySQL which can also be used for basic con­tent man­age­ment. It has many fea­tures includ­ing a user-friendly work­flow, a rich plu­gin archi­tec­ture, and an advanced tem­plat­ing sys­tem.  Word­Press is the most pop­u­lar blog soft­ware in use today.

It was first released in May 2003 by Matt Mul­len­weg as a fork of b2/cafelog.  As of Sep­tem­ber 2009,  it is being used by 202 mil­lion web­sites world­wide. More info about word­press can be found on Wikipedia.. where this lit­tle blurb came from.. The open source plat­form are suited more for the lib­er­tar­ian type of indi­vid­ual.. I guess I would fall under that cat­e­gory..  Even though I”m a con­ser­v­a­tive at heart,  I’m not much on restric­tions.. The plat­form Word­Press is built lends itself the free­dom to express your­self,  a lib­erty that is still enjoyed in this country. 

Since its incep­tion there are now plat­form ver­sions .com and .org . The first ver­sion .com is a more con­trolled envi­ron­ment. It runs a pro­pri­etary code .  It is finan­cially sup­ported via paid upgrades, “VIP” ser­vices and lim­ited Google Adsense adver­tis­ing. It offers staff sup­port and is pop­u­lated by many inter­est­ing peo­ple who offer real value and use­ful infor­ma­tion.. It has also a strict use pol­icy as to what you are allowed to do within their plat­form environment.

They really don’t like you to pro­mote business’s,  affil­i­ate links,  bla­tant adver­tis­ing, unless it offers value added con­tent. Mostly top­ics and sub­jects that are of an edu­ca­tional nature in a vari­ety of top­ics. This par­tic­u­lar blog is an open source blog as you can tell by all my affil­i­ate links… You’ll find that the major­ity of mar­ket­ing blogs out there are of an open source ori­gin. Your basi­cally on your own.. even though open source has its very own open forum for help. You still need to fig­ure things out for your­self which,  all in all is not such a bad idea,  since you now have to learn and deal with your own Word Press cre­ation. Its basi­cally up to you to opti­mize your blog, and to pro­mote your blog to mar­ket your busi­ness. For those a need a lit­tle help or your just start­ing out the links on this site will help you much..some are free and other help is paid for.. only you can decide which is best for you.

The good thing is,  the resources on this blog are qual­ity and do offer great value. It is a series of video tuto­ri­als that teach you how to set up a Word­Press Blog, how to get traf­fic to the blog, and how to make money with the blog!

The videos are so easy to fol­low, I set up my blog in less than an hour. The cool thing about the whole process is that once the blog is installed, you can just occa­sion­ally write about things that you want to write about. It’s not really work because it is stuff that you enjoy! Once it’s set up the money will start com­ing in on autopi­lot!  Buth thats only if you work at it.. If you let your blog sit and col­lect spi­der ware the only vis­i­tors you’ll have will be the spi­ders that are crawl­ing around your house.

I heard that only a lim­ited num­ber of spots are going to be given out in the class­room. Matt Wolfe, the teacher, tries to help the stu­dents on a one-on-one basis when­ever they need help.  So I think he is lim­it­ing it to 200 spots or some­thing like that.  I really wouldn’t wait on this. It is some really pow­er­ful stuff! Go check it out now! It is an amaz­ing oppor­tu­nity to do some­thing that you enjoy and make money at the same time!
